I didn't know you could be pro-life and feminist!!
Good news! The core tenets of feminism are equality, non-discrimination, and nonviolence. And science tells us that the product of a same-species conception is a member of the same species (in short, we are human beings from the moment we are conceived). Therefore, being against abortion is yet another instance of standing against unjust discrimination and standing for the equality of all human beings before the law.
Being pro-life and pro-woman go hand-in-hand!
What does the shirt say?
The front reads: "This is what a pro-life feminist looks like" with a twist on the typical "feminist" symbol: instead of the fist for power, the hand is making a peace symbol. We did this because we know that true equality cannot be attained through the discrimination against other certain classes or groups of human beings.
The back reads:
"Core Tenets of Feminism
equality
for all human beings, regardless of gender, race, religion, politics, age, size, or any other circumstance.
non-discrimination
because any act of discrimination (whether it be sexism, racism, ageism, or ableism) is contrary to human dignity.
nonviolence
because non-discrimination in practice means that every human being has the right to live a life free from violence.

Who's the team behind this awesome shirt?
The main designers behind this shirt are Maria (of Life Matters Journal and Bama Students for Life) and Aimee (of Life Matters Journal).
But our whole team of pro-life feminist colleagues who are coming together to produce this shirt includes New Wave Feminists, Feminists for Nonviolent Choices, Alice Paul Group, The Guiding Star Project, Life Matters Journal, and Feminists Against Violence.
We are all organizations dedicated to bringing an end to abortion, engendering a respect for the life of every human being, and supporting women to make the empowered nonviolent choices for life!
What are the funds going towards?
Good question!
Part of the funds (5-10%) will be dispersed to Maria's Bama Students for Life team to help them continue to do campus activism and outreach.
The remainder of the funds will go towards pro-life feminist education, activism, and events for the coming year -- including a #ProLifeFeminist meetup at the March for Life in DC!
