My name is SJ and I have suffered from Depression and Anxiety for nearly 10 years.
I want to raise awareness for mental health and reduce the stigma that is unfortunately still attached to mental health in this day and age.
I asked people who had experienced mental health problems and carers of those who have suffered, to draw what mental health means to them.
The artwork I have received has been amazing and I am so thankful to everyone who has been involved.
The public voted for their favourite drawing and the winner is by Pauline West.
Pauline West is 67 years old and for nearly 30 years she has suffered from Depression. It wasn't until 2009 when she was a patient in hospital, that she was offered the chance to do an art therapy 3 year course as an outpatient and she has never looked back. Pauline states that she now sees life as Colour and Form rather than Doom and Gloom and is able to express her feelings freely.
All proceeds are going to Mind.
A Mental Health Charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
